Why We’ve Joined the Better Business Act Coalition

When Insanity became a certified B Corp nearly a year ago, we updated our Articles of Association at Companies House to reflect the journey we are on and our commitment to using business as a force for good.

This legal change means we are now committed to:

  • Creating a meaningful positive impact on society and the environment through our business and operations
  • Considering all ‘stakeholder interests’ – including our shareholders, colleagues, suppliers, society and the environment

We know change takes time, but as part of our continued efforts to align business success with wider social and environmental responsibility, we’ve recently joined a coalition of over 3,000 UK businesses in supporting the Better Business Act.

The aim of the Act is to encourage the UK government to update company law, so that every business, not just B Corps, have a legal responsibility to consider the impact of their decisions on all stakeholders (such as colleagues, clients and the wider community), and not just shareholders.

The challenges of climate change and social inequality are significant and urgent. While no single company can address them alone, we believe businesses have an important role to play.

At Insanity, we see this approach as consistent with the way we want to work and believe we all have a role to play in building a fairer, greener future.
