Shini Muthukrishnan
Shini is a Broadcaster and Content Creator.
She began her journey on social media wanting to be part of the ever-growing South Asian representation in the media. Since then, Shini has grown an incredible community across TikTok and Instagram with over 558,000 followers. She celebrates her British, Indian and Malaysian heritage and has connected with her audience while celebrating her culture, and staying true to herself. Shini also graduated from King's College London where she studied Philosophy, Politics & Economics.
Shini then became the 43rd presenter of the iconic show Blue Peter, after being scouted by CBBC producers. She started the role in January 2024 and has since gone on multiple adventures including an aerobatic flight experience and performing in Aladdin the Musical at the Palace Theatre. Shini has also hosted Cbeebies Live Bedtime Stories, CBBC HQ, BBC Live Lessons, BBC Bitesize and BBC Super Movers.
She has experience working with children, having taught children in Hong Kong during her gap year and volunteered at a youth camp in Birmingham. She is passionate about engaging young people and the possibility of having a positive impact on children’s lives. Shini is also an avid reader and shares her love of devouring books on her social media accounts.
