Abbie McCarthy is an award-winning presenter, DJ & content creator - widely recognised as one of the UK's leading tastemakers.

Abbie currently presents for BBC Introducing, where she has been instrumental in discovering and championing a vast array of incredible acts. Beloved by listeners for her warm, fun presenting style and infectious sense of humour, Abbie has become a trusted guide for finding the next big thing in music.

Her huge contribution to radio and the wider music industry has been celebrated with various accolades, including her induction into the Roll of Honour at Music Week’s Women In Music Awards (2018) and winning Silver for Best Music Presenter at the ARIAs (2020). Abbie is a seasoned live host, having fronted coverage from the UK’s biggest festivals and events. She made history as the first woman to host the main stage at Reading Festival, and has also brought her signature energy to Glastonbury, Abbey Road Studios, red carpets & beyond.

A gifted interviewer, Abbie has a knack for drawing out the best stories from both rising stars and global icons. She brings this talent to her esteemed series, The Eras Podcast, which explores the music and moments that have shaped your favourite artists. Guests have included AURORA, Glass Animals, Blossoms, Sigrid & The Kooks, and the show was shortlisted for Best Music Show at the 2025 Audio & Radio Awards.

Abbie is the founder of Good Karma Club, a critically acclaimed live night championing the most exciting emerging artists. The platform has provided early shows for the likes of Sam Fender, Olivia Dean, Artemas, Tom Grennan, Paris Paloma & many more. Over the years the sold out nights have even attracted several famous faces in the crowd - including Alex Turner, Lewis Capaldi & Bastille.

As a DJ, Abbie brings an unmistakable party atmosphere wherever she plays - from exclusive events and afterparties to major festivals and arena shows. She’s performed at some of the biggest stages around, including the MTV EMAs, TikTok Awards, Glastonbury, Latitude, the O2 Arena, and so much more.

Aside from music, Abbie’s other passion is sport, which really shines through in her entertaining coverage for Chelsea TV and player interviews for BBC Sport. Abbie hosts online content for England's football teams, including player interviews, fan content and Lionesses Live & Lions Den during major tournaments. In recent years, she has also taken to the main stage at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, interviewing F1 stars like Lando Norris and George Russell, in front of thousands of devoted fans.

Abbie also co-hosts The Added Time Podcast, alongside ex-Lionesses and WSL greats Fran Kirby & Beth England, delving into all the latest stories from the women's game. Beyond broadcasting, Abbie is passionate about sustainable fashion, animals and the environment. She has hosted Billie Eilish's Overheated event in the UK for the last few years, bringing together a global community to discuss the climate crisis and inspire meaningful change.
