Lucy Shepherd

She/Her

Lucy is hailed by The Times as “the most hardcore member of the new generation of British adventurers”.

She believes that ‘adventure is a mindset, not a moment’. Her mission is rooted in sharing her love of the planet’s most extreme yet fragile wild places and encouraging others to not only take on their own pioneering challenges but also gain wider knowledge of our endangered lands.

Lucy has been leading and partaking in expeditions around the globe for over a decade. Her expeditions have made her no stranger to the world’s toughest environments, from the arctic plateaus to the high mountains to the deep jungles to the sweltering deserts.

At a young age, Lucy discovered the power of film and storytelling to deeply move and inspire others which led her to be made a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society at just 23 and a co-opted council member of the Scientific Exploration Society, one of the world’s oldest exploration charities.

This year will see the launch of Lucy’s broadcasting career.

Her first Channel 4 two-part adventure series ‘Secret Amazon: Into the Wild’ follows her pioneering expedition. With over 50% of the world’s population now living in cities, it’s hard to believe there are any true wildernesses left, but Lucy sets out to prove that these fragile ecosystems still exist. The 50-day expedition through uncharted Amazon terrain follows Lucy and her team as they navigate untouched wilderness and confront relentless dangers.

Lucy is also a Ford Ambassador and a popular Motivational Speaker.
